How to use Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin) is taken orally, with or without food. You may take it with food if you experience a stomach upset. You usually administer this medication once a day unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this medication at approximately the same time each day. Continue to take it until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if you feel the symptoms have disappeared. If you stop taking Zithromax (Azithromycin) too early, it may allow the continued growth of bacteria, which may result in a relapse of the infection.
Overdose If you suspect you have taken too much Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin), contact your local poison control center and/or emergency medical services immediately.
Missed dose If you have missed a dose of Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin), take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dosage, skip the missed dose, then resume your schedule. Do not attempt to double up on a dosage to make up for missed medication.
Notes While taking Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin), you may feel dizzy or light-headed or actually faint when getting up from a lying or sitting position. If getting up slowly doesn't help or if this problem continues, notify your doctor.
Do not share this medication with others, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin).
Storage Store Generic Zithromax (Azithromycin) at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) and keep away from light and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
